Mini Dalmatian
Mini Dalmatian dogs are not recognized by any breed organization, and they have nothing to do with any professional Dalmatian breeding program. These dogs are not recognized, and if you ever met someone claiming to have such dogs for sale, this is definitely not a trustworthy person. Dalmatians are medium-sized and sturdy dogs, measuring 2024 inches high at the shoulder.
So called Mini Dalmatian breeders seek profit in breeding, and they do not care much for the well-being of their dogs. They do not provide due veterinary care for their puppies and do not put their dogs to genetic testing. Too many dogs produced by backyard breeders have serious physical and behavioral abnormalities, and there is little chance that they will ever become show ring dogs. Unfortunately, it is not before the deal is struck that buyers realize that they have made a mistake, and then they suffer great disappointment and eventually surrender their dogs to shelters.
The Dalmatian’s popularity soared after the release of the Walt Disney movie “101 Dalmatians”, and many dog lovers fell in for the dog immediately. This prompted many unethical breeders to launch their own “production lines” in order to gain fast money. As we can see, popularity does not only bring happiness. This is a good thing for all would-be Dalmatian owners to know. Once again, there are NO officially recognized Mini Dalmatians! Even if you do find a diminished Dalmatian, there is no guarantee this is a healthy dog. Dalmatians are susceptible to some serious hereditary diseases, such as deafness, hip and elbow dysplasia and urinary stones. These diseases mostly affect dogs that have been bred by backyard breeders.
Dalmatians are excellent Companion dogs, with a cute appearance and unsurpassed physical potential. These dogs have been around for more than two centuries, and early Dalmatians were supposed to run alongside horse-drawn coaches. They often had to travel long distances, and hence they had to be very strong, enduring and devoted. The dog has also developed good guarding skills, and the today’s Dalmatian is quite protective around his loved ones and household. Dalmatians are renowned for their white spotted coats and vivacious disposition, and it is not for nothing that Walt Disney film makers chose the Dalmatian as the most worthwhile character to hit the screen. Dalmatians are good with children, but are not recommended for families with toddlers. They can be reserved with strangers, but it is not uncommon to them to make friends with new people in the course of time. If you would like to purchase a Dalmatian puppy, please, take your time and find a conscientious breeder and do not take any Mini Dalmatian information seriously.
